AmBitious is a Kansai Jr. unit. The name "Ambitious" is derived from the word "ambition," and producer Tadayoshi Okura said, "Some people are embarrassed to have passion and dreams, but I thought the way they worked hard on stage was truly 'ambitious'"

Background[]
AmBitious was announced as unit through idol magazine 'MYOJO' on October 22, 2021. The members also learned of the formation that day as well. The group was formed by Kanjani8's Tadayoshi Ohkura.
On March 2022, the group held a voting poll on Jweb letting the fans decide the member's color. Later that year, they started their Island TV segment called "Ambicharge" which later ended in 2023 upon the closure of Island TV.
On January 1, 2023 their unit page has been officially introduce in Island TV with their Island TV Character "Ambiri".
On June 16, 2023, J-Island has released a statement regarding member Koshiba Riku and reported that they have conducted a fact-check with Koshiba after series of photos and videos of alleged dating and underaged smoking were leaked. Statement says he is sincerely reflecting about his careless behaviour and would be in an indefinite hiatus. In addition, J-Island also pulled out all his goods as part of his hiatus. Since June 2023, AmBitious were performing as 8-members.
On January 27, 2024, Jr Official (former J-Island) released a statement that member Koshiba Riku will officially leave the group and STARTO Entertainment on January 31, 2024, followed by an FC video of Koshiba reporting his leave, making AmBitious an 8-member group. He opened a X (former Twitter) and Instagram a few hours after his profile was deleted on the official website.
On February 1, 2024 Family Club X account announces AmBitious' own official blog. Fans were asked to submit entries of suggestions for the blog name. On March 14, 2024, the official name for the blog has been announced as "Ambicharge", reviving their previous Island TV segment of the same name.
On April 16, 2024, it was revealed on the Junior Youtube Channel that 73 Kansai Juniors, including AmBitious and Boys Be, will take over the Tuesday slot in the channel (formerly was Ae! Group's slot).
On May 1, 2024 It was announced on the Junior Fanclub that Boys Be's Yamanaka Itsuki will be removed from Boys Be and will be added as a member of AmBitious, making them a 9-member group.
